Mainstream Counseling, a licensed outpatient drug and alcohol facility with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Bureau of Drug and Alcohol Programs, provides outpatient drug and alcohol services to residents of Huntingdon County.  Mainstream Counseling accepts most major insurance company reimbursements as well as Medical Assistance (ACCESS) reimbursement.  Please contact Mainstream Counseling for insurance pre-certification process.

Staff members are specialists in drug and alcohol problems, including therapy for family members of a person with drug or alcohol problems, as well as experienced in providing counseling with emotional, interpersonal, career, and life skills concerns.

Therapists provide treatment which is directed toward the development of fully rehabilitated, well adjusted persons who are capable of interacting in a complex society in a healthy manner.

Referrals may be made to a variety of sources including the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, the Department of Public Assistance, Inpatient Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation, Inpatient Mental Health services, private physicians or psychiatrists, Alcoholics Anonymous, Al-Anon, and Ala-Teen. 

When appropriate, arrangements can be made for sessions to be scheduled while the client is in the hospital, Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation or incarcerated.
