S&DFS Related Sites  (Prevention orientation)

The “Safe and Drug Free Schools” site contains a list of drug abuse prevention, violence prevention, and other internet prevention resources.

U.S. Department of Education (Prevention orientation)

This site deals with a large array of education issues but does contain some information on the “Children’s Health Insurance Plan (CHIPS) and on safe schools.

Higher Education Center for D&A Prevention (Prevention orientation)

This is a prevention oriented web site that contains a section specific to students.

Join Together Online  (Education Information)

This has got to be one of the premier community oriented efforts in the nation.  The site provides access to information ranging from community strategies to gun violence to substance abuse.  This is an excellent resource.

Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (Prevention, and Treatment)

As the introductory blurb says, this agency is “charged with improving the quality and availability of prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation services in order to reduce illness, death, disability, and cost to society resulting from substance abuse and mental illness”.

Drug Strategies (Prevention and Treatment information orientation)

This is a research oriented site that provides very informed and well written informational studies on drug availability use and reduction strategies.

National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (Education and Information)

If you want to find information about alcohol and other drug addiction, dependence, and recovery,  this probably should be where you start your journey!

National Clearinghouse for D&A Information (Education and Information)

A service of SAMHASA, the site is a wealth of information ranging from database to research to kids stuff!
